A local way of life

Stonehouse has the bonus of two primary schools: Stonehouse Primary and Newfield Primary. St Patrick’s Primary School in Strathaven is another option for your children. Larkhall Academy and Strathaven Academy are the local secondary schools. Excellent bus services between these two towns make sure that it’s easy to get there from Stonehouse. Sports facilities at the Alexander Hamilton Memorial Park include play areas, multi-use games areas and a rugby pitch. Local shops include a SPAR, Boots Pharmacy and an Esso garage.

Local towns

Stonehouse is halfway between Larkhall and Strathaven on the A71. An easy 4-mile trip will add national supermarkets, shops and leisure facilities. Larkhall has the advantage of a train station, and both these friendly towns are a great back-up for your own local facilities.

City life

Glasgow is a fantastic city for leisure, shopping, entertainment, culture and nightlife, and Stonehouse is in an ideal location to get there. It’s great for commuters, but work apart, this action-packed city is close enough for you to make the most of day trips, evenings out and weekend activities for all the family. Mainline train services and the airport put plenty of other destinations within easy reach.
