Wormit
Wormit is a popular commuter village for Dundee, facing it across the Firth of Tay – one of Scotland’s great waterways. Your new home will be very much a part of this small community, and with the Firth of Tay railway and road bridges, you’ll be in the big city for work and pleasure in no time. The village spreads along the shores of the Tay so it’s got a panoramic view, and behind it are the farms and fields of rural Fife.

Living here
It’ll feel like the best of both worlds having village and city life so close together. Having a village primary school is a real bonus for the community. There’s a SPAR in both Wormit and Newport On Tay, and then all the high street brands and superstores of Dundee to choose from. Alternatively, there are superstores at Cupar on the A91, just under 10 miles to the south.
Getting around
With a train station on the main Edinburgh to Dundee line, and the Tay Road Bridge just up the road at Newport-on-Tay, it’s easy to get into both cities for work and leisure. It’s half an hour by train to Dundee. Wormit is just off the A92, the main link road across Fife to Dunfermline and Edinburgh. From Dundee it continues all the way up the east coast to Aberdeen. Edinburgh Airport is your nearest for international and domestic flights.
Going to school
Wormit has a highly regarded primary school on a lovely site that is central to the village. For 11 to 18-year-olds, Madras College in St Andrews is in the catchment area. For sixth form courses and further education, Dundee & Angus College of Further Education is a convenient choice.
Enjoying yourself
There’s a fantastic walk along Wormit Bay. It might not be the sea, but the Tay is so wide that it’s as good as. Craigshannoch Park is to the south west of the village – it’s a great open space just in from the bay. You won’t be short of golf courses with St Andrew’s just up the road – there are some lovely sandy beaches there too - and for a taste of city life and entertainment you’ve got the choice of Dundee and Edinburgh.
